Thanks for your vulnerability in your last teaching “Dr. Larson”. I have to admit that I laughed out loud at the story of when you shared your mind with your wife and offended her after intimacy. If every married man had a dollar for every time they shared what random thing was going through their head with their wife and offended her, we’d have a country full of millionaires! My experience is that I sometimes will share what i am thinking with my spouse with zero intention of critique, complaint, or judgement… however it does not always seem to be received with the intention that it was given. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just a bunch of rambling thoughts:
At the risk of blanket statements and stereotypes… I don’t know a heterosexual male that doesn’t do a double-take at a beautiful lady in a bikini at the beach, or even a so-so lady in a bikini at the beach. When dolling out desires, did God get lazy after dispersing “sexual desire” for males? In GENERAL in our American society, how does gender play a role? We are innately wired differently with different needs and desires.
Would you say there are different levels of desires? It seems to me that we have desires that follow the pattern of society, but every once in a while we get a glimpse of a desire that makes us see things differently. I have this thought in my head that 90% of the Holy Spirit’s job is just trying to help us see our undiscovered desires.
For many, it is a paradigm shift to believe that desires are God-given. I love it.
